Oriental Trading Company sent me this awesome little wooden tray. It’s about 9 inches wide and 9 inches long and about a half inch deep. For some reason I didn’t read the direction clearly and thought it was a full size tray, but the more I have played with it, looked at it I have come up with some fun ideas and started on it.
First with some cherry red Rit dye I gave it a good brush down . People ask me why I don’t use stains or paints for that part. First I don’t want to. Second I don’t like the look. Rit doesn’t destroy the texture and the natural grain of the wood and boy does it dry so much faster! For those who will ask how to do it. One part Rit to two parts water stir, brush on, keep adding on until you get the richness you want.
Now I am playing with it, I know I am turning it into wall art, I just don’t know if it will be vinyl wall art with a 3 dimeninsional aspect, which is what I am leaning towards. So far this is what it looks like in practice mode:
So anyone got any ideas?
